I enjoyed reading this article but I’m not totally won over by the premise that not giving people exactly what they need is the right approach for a sales-driven B2B product that is looking for product-market fit. It is, for example, the exact opposite of Microsoft’s origin story, and a big part of the reason for success in at least one startup I worked for. I totally share your perspective that managing complexity is important, I’m still a bit on the fence about the actual value of delight in terms of priority in a business setting. As a designer said to me once, people want to be able to do their jobs, they want to be treated seriously. It’s a delicate balance for sure
